Centre Residentials

Action packed residentials to inspire your pupils.

With the core theme of ‘Explore and Inspire’ running through the heart of our multi-activity residentials, our action-packed itineraries suit a variety of interests and abilities for children through to adults.

We will provide a range of fun activities that allow opportunities to explore, challenge and grow; helping build confidence and character, improving health and wellbeing, developing awareness and skills, and broadening horizons. Centre activities include team problem solving, high ropes, climbing walls, bushcraft, BMX and much more. Activities away from the centres can include scrambling, water sports, caving and day expeditions.

The five-day Explore and Inspire centre residential is our classic adventure learning programme with a mix of fun and engaging centre-based challenge activities and adventures further afield. The 3-day Explore and Inspire centre residential offers a combination of centre-based adventure challenges and bushcraft activities to help explorers on their way.

For a fun and fast-paced day of centre-based activities, try our Explore & Inspire centre day visit, or if you’re looking for something in particular then lets talk.

How our residential courses help - the outcomes you can expect

Through active engagement in the great outdoors, our highly qualified instructors provide unforgettable fun and adventurous learning experiences that help with:

Enjoyment - Having fun is as valid an outcome as any here. Trips out of schools are often the best part of being in school, and for teachers and pupils alike, the opportunity to go somewhere else and share in some enjoyment is a wonderful thing.

Building confidence and character - Confidence has taken a real hit for many during the pandemic. Reversing that to allow young people to build their confidence back up and enable them to take on future challenges and achieve success is key.

Improved health and wellbeing - Spending just two hours outside in nature significantly boosts your health and wellbeing. In fact, many studies show that regular ‘green time’ reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.

Increased motivation and appetite for learning - Increased motivation, as we often see when young people are in outdoor environments, can lead to an improved appetite for self-directed learning in other environments, notably back in school where you’ll see raised levels of attainment in other aspects of their development.

Broadening horizons - Many of us have had narrower horizons over these last years, in all sorts of senses. Getting young people outdoors really helps broaden their outlook. Exploration and inspiration are key themes in what we do in our activities, encouraging young people to go off and explore the world, encouraging them to embrace a wider range of employment opportunities and life chances.

Social, emotional, and environmental awareness - Through the field-based, exploratory and journeying nature of much of what we do, we are helping young people develop an understanding of conservation and sustainable development, as well as giving them practical skills to allow them to go off and explore the world for themselves.

Developing personal qualities & skills - We’re helping more people be more active, more often through the activities we offer, at a time when appreciating the lifelong value of participation in healthy leisure activities is emphasised. Through the activities themselves, which are often problem-based with a tangible outcome, we’re getting young people working together, where key skills such as communication, creativity, critical thinking, co-operation, initiative, and innovation are developed.
