In recent years there has been more of a focus from the ESFA on internal scrutiny within schools and academies.

This has arisen as a result of publicised weaknesses and failures in controls within these organisations.

The Governors/Trustees of a school are required to satisfy themselves that the controls and processes within a school are adequate, implemented and followed.
